About Carter Coastal Vacation Rentals

The vacation rental property market in Florida is BOOMING! Our bookings are already up over last year, and we expect to experience property shortages once again at the height of the 2017 season.  We pride ourselves on the many guests that return year after year; and refer their friends and family to us. We are a full-service vacation rental management group that utilizes online marketing, professional sales and a meticulous cleaning staff.  We support local small business vendors, plumbers, electricians, etc... to help support our beach community.  We work very hard to make sure our guests are relaxed, happy and fully enjoying their vacation...We will improve the rental income returns for our owners, year after year.


Greetings from the Owner!

Here is just a quick overview of my career along with a few of Carter Vacation strengths in the rental industry. 

I have been involved in the hospitality field most of my life.  After graduating from Boston University back in 1986 I got my start working as a night auditor in a small hotel just outside of Boston. I soon became fascinated with this industry and wanted to know everything about it. I enjoyed finding ways to improve the overall experience for the guests and in doing so was promoted often. I learned all aspects of each department and through the years I was the General Manager of some well-known hotels. 

During my corporate career as a General Manager of a Hyatt Hotel in Tampa I had an opportunity to manage a small beach vacation rental along the shores of the Gulf.  Simply put…I was hooked.  This became my new passion and career.

My wife and I had stayed in vacation rentals in the past with mixed feelings about our stays, I knew there was room for improvement in the Vacation Rental business and I was excited to get started.

I feel our success at Carter Coastal Vacation Rentals is from having a variety of vacation property options that suites each guests needs and budget. We also have chosen to keep CVR business relatively small in order to maintain a personable connection with each of our new arrivals. I, along with my team understand the importance of anticipating the guest’s needs as well as treating each guest with complete respect during their vacation getaway.

A word from the General Manager


I have been involved in real estate and the vacation rental field most of my life. I started out as a real estate paralegal in Ohio, which lead me to real estate title. I then partnered with an attorney and we opened our first title agency in 1998.  We grew our business to three locations and were closing over 200 transactions per month.  After the crash in 2008, we sold the business to our underwriter.  I took this opportunity to move to Key West, Florida were I learned the vacation rental business. I was a marketing representative, running around on a golf cart living the island life...  Then I found out that I was about to be a mother again to my second little girl and knew Key West was not a place I wanted to raise my daughter.  So, I started looking at places in Florida where I wanted to live and landed a job as a Property Manager/Internet Marketer in Clearwater beach.  I worked there growing the business from 20 units to 64 units in four years. This spring I came aboard Carter Vacation Rentals, where I now act as General Manager.  I primarily handle reservations, inquiries and marketing, as well as scheduling housekeeping.  I reside on the beach in Redington Shores and love this area and I love what I do!

I think I have found my retirement spot!
